Our senior hurlers travelled to Rathkeale today to play their final group game against Colaiste Na Trocaire, Rathkeale. Causeway started the game very brightly with early points from Ivan Conway and John Curtin. Our full forward line came alive after 10 minutes and took advantage of good work out the field with Dylan Legg, Ivan Conway and Eoin Lawlor all raising green flags in the first half to leave us with a decent lead at halftime.
Colaiste na Trocaire to their credit rallied after halftime and the second half was a more even contest. Callum Carey and Jake Segal continued to provide a great platform through their work rate in midfield, while Tomas Godley marshalled our back line well from No.6. Our bench made a good impact with Will O'Sullivan scoring an eye-catching point from an acute angle, while Jevon Carey brought energy and quality to the half-forward line. A good win which sees us progress to the next round of the competition which will take place after Christmas exams next week.
Well done to all players for the commitment and we wish them luck in their exams next week.
