Outdoor pursuits week in Kilfinane…
Over 30 of our TY students took on the challenges of Kilfinane Outdoor Education centre from April 15 – 19th. The brave students did a river walk with a difference, walking in the water rather than on the riverbank and the bravest students dived into the deep plunge pool at the end. Archery, Rockwall may sound calmer, but these activities are not for the fainthearted. Next students turned their attention to Mountain Biking, taking on the Ballyhoura Mountain Bike Trails.
Day 3 saw the full group taking on a 14 km hike in the Ballyhoura mountains.
There was no rest for the tired and bruises bodies as Thursday saw them back on the water, Kayaking on Lough Gur, and learning the art of bush craft & shelter building.
Team building games, orienteering, hide & seek, table tennis, pool & card games were also fitted into the busy schedule. The week ended up with a campfire.
Well done to these fantastic students for their “can do attitude”, their resilience, their teamwork and their sense of adventure.
