Monday
Well done to the First Year Boys Basketball team who today played in the All Ireland playoffs v Loughrea and Clonakility. The boys performed well but found the physicality of the Galway and Cork schools hard to match with the Galway school progressing to the All Ireland semi finals on a final score of 31-28. Well done to the boys who have in the most part only started playing this year. Many thanks to Coach Mr O’Connor for all his work with the boys
Our junior girls were out in action yesterday in the Kerry schools junior shield final. The girls game up against a very competitive Pres Castleisland team. From the throw our girls put in a strong performance with a solid defence and quick attacking forwards. Great way to finish the year for this team. Joint captains Molly Gaynor and Kellie Regan collected the trophy on behalf of their teammates.
Tuesday
We were invited to take part in a Junior Girls Soccer development blitz hosted by ISK Killorglin on Tuesday. Causeway fielded two teams on the day, playing some great football in the glorious sunshine.
Causeway 'Green' secured a draw and a win in their two games, while Causeway 'Black' were defeated in their opening games they secured bragging rights by beating their schoolmates in their last game.
A great day was had by all and a small bit of history was made by these girls being the first to represent Causeway Comprehensive School in Girls soccer, with Holly Quinlan having the glory of being the first player to bag a goal with a tidy finish against the hosts. Many thanks to Killorglin ISK for facilitating and organising such a well run event.

Thursday
Congratulations to John Curtin (6th Year) who tonight was part of the Kerry U20 Panel who won the Munster Championship tonight beating Cork.
Also congratulations to Evan Boyle a former student who had a brilliant game midfield.
Friday
The sun broke through the clouds on Friday May 1st where Causeway CS staff and students took part in their annual school Sports Day , which involved a lot of fun and activities. From an obstacle course , track and field events, skills challenges, soccer,hurling, basketball, football to of course, our annual teachers v 6th year games in soccer, basketball, and ladies tug of war. Huge thank you to our PE Department for organising this event and all the staff and students for their support. Check out some of our photos
