Monday
Our 1st year soccer team were in action again on Monday against St. Pat's Castleisland. Our lads dominated a lot of the ball throughout the game but struggled to break down a resolute St. Pat's defence. Unfortunately, we were hit on the break three times throughout the game and fell to a 3-0 defeat. While we had trouble showing our attacking talent, our goalkeeper Aaron Collins made some fantastic saves and was our man of the match no doubt. Many thanks to our TY helpers/photographers Abbie Lynch, Danielle Roche, JJ Fealy and Emily Fealy for their help on the day.
Wednesday
SOUTH WEST B REGIONAL CHAMPIONS! 🏀
Major congratulations to our senior girls Basketball team who won today against Coláiste Muire Ennis and Laurel Hill Coláiste in Athea. The girls drive, determination and grit was inspiring to watch, winning the semi-final 32-15 and the final only an hour later 46-29. Every single one of them rose to the occasion today and played with such ferocity that they were never trailing in either of their games.
They now go onto All Ireland playoffs in January.
Thursday
Our Senior hurlers were in the Munster Quarter final yesterday against Colaiste an Phiarsaigh in Banteer. In an enthralling, high-scoring encounter, we unfortunately came up short against the strong Cork opposition despite showing great character and grit to keep fighting to the bitter end.
The game marked the final time that our 6th year lads would tog out for the school Hurling team after 6 years of fantastic service. These lads have been exemplary in how they have represented the school everywhere they have gone, from Hermitage Park, Lixnaw all the way to Gaelic Park, New York and they have made fantastic memories and forged strong friendships along the way. They have set a great example for our younger players to follow and have epitomised all that is good about school sports. We look forward to seeing them continue to perform for their clubs, colleges and for Kerry in the years to come.
